Cheryl Cole – Grab Her Glamour

Find out how to get the Geordie X Factor judge's look...

Sparkly sequins are this Winter’s fashion favourite. We can’t turn around in the shops without spotting endless numbers of dresses, jackets and even trousers, that have all been dusted with some sequin magic – the high street collections have completely spoilt us for choice. The perfect razzle-dazzle outfit isn’t complete without an equally striking make-up look though. And, who better to be our show-and-tell than the Queen of glitz and glamour (okay, and fashion and beauty) herself – Cheryl Cole.

Miss Cole’s hair and make-up is what we always notice as she sits on the judging panel in X Factor. It is striking and obvious, yet it remains natural and very feminine – the perfect balance. Unlike Dannii Minogue’s beauty style, which we featured two weeks ago, Cheryl’s make-up stands out by matching the boldness of her outfits. Here, we have selected our top beauty buys that will make copying Cheryl’s look as easy as staying in and watching X Factor on a Saturday night...

The essence of every A-list beauty look is now thick, full eyeliner. Cheryl is no exception to this rule. We fell in love with Lancôme’s eye collection and though they are not exactly bargain-basement prices, the quality of their products will make purchasing them a true investment. Lancôme’s Artliner in black is the perfect tool to mirror Cheryl’s electric eyes. It comes in at £19.50 but don’t be afraid to use generously – you’ll put yourself at the front of every crowd.

Lancôme’s range of Colour Designs eye shadows have also won us over for adding a bit of sparkle to your eyes. The Soft Wax System formula used, leaves the texture on your lid silky and smooth as well as making them long-wearing – perfect for those Christmas parties coming up.  To recreate the intensity that Cheryl loves, use 601 Strass Black – an intensely black, sparkly shadow that will really add some glamour to your blink. Add another of our favourites, 605 Strass Amethyst – a deep, sparkly purple – which will soften your look as well as adding some vibrant, girly colour. They both are a very reasonable £12.50.

For Cheryl’s lashes, we’d recommend YSL’s Volume Effet Faux Cils that was a star buy for copying Dannii’s look. However, as a great purse-friendly alternative, we suggest you try out Maybelline’s Great Lash mascara. In jet black, it adds volume, length and is clump-free. The best thing about this mascara though, has got to be its price. It will set you back just £4.88.

What you simply cannot go without, to create the ultimate Cheryl look, is pink lip gloss. As you can imagine, we had fun trying out the endless numbers available to us on the market. Our favourite? Without question, Chanel’s Aqualumiere Gloss in 687 Hirondelle (above). It will cost you £18 but the solid colour, ultimate shine and pure elegance you will exude is totally worth it. Its “artist’s” brush provides the perfect means for ultra definition to your lips too – we love this product.

Miss Cole’s hair is always in the spotlight. She is famous for her trademark full-bodied locks that have added bounce and added shine. If you want to get the look that Cheryl is showing off so proudly here, it’s simple. Use Aussie’s Aussome Volume Shampoo and Conditioner. Both come in at an affordable £3.49. Not only will they add heaps of volume to fine, limp and lifeless hair – or give the volumous ones of you a bit of extra oomph – the scents you will be parading about town as you swish your hair around are to die for.
