It’s time to get your favourite cartoon character jumping off the front of your t-shirt

We have watched as bright, bold slogans took over ownership of the front of our t-shirts but I think we’ve all got over voicing our opinions through fashion. Now it’s time to look back to your childhood, to the days when there was one specific cartoon or comic star that was your hero. What more could you want than to have them splashed across your new favourite t-shirt. It’s time to re-live those days and go out and buy a retro print t-shirt.

The latest fashion craze to hit the high-street has been sneaking its way in gradually. First sightings were of the Care Bears, Hello Kitty and more on pyjamas across the most popular of clothes shops. Clearly experiencing some great success, it was time for these characters to take a leap into our everyday wear.

The high street store which has really been swept away with this latest trend is New Look, head over there for a wide range of choice; our favourite is their Where’s Wally printed T-shirt at £12.00. The dark navy background colour makes this T-shirt ideal for dressing up or down, and will look perfect with skinny jeans and a long cardigan.

TruffleShuffle is the best place for retro clothing, the Love at First Sight Lois and Superman T-shirt, £24.99 (pictured left), had to be on the list.  It plays with the idea of these famous comic strip characters, with an electric blue background bringing a little bit of summer into the autumn days.

Another famous character is Wonder Woman who was bound to make an appearance at some point. Urban Outfitters' Brunettes Tee, £28, portrays her in her classic form, in a vintage comic strip style. Thus bringing us another simple t-shirt to go with any outfit.

Probably one of the last places you would look for the latest fashion is Play.com, however this trend fits in well with their other products. The most subtle of designs is the Batman distressed, skinny fit T-shirt brilliant if you are not a big fan of big statement t-shirts. Oh and it’s the cheapest of the bunch at £11.99.

Lastly a distinctive Disney Couture Vintage Cartoon Mickey Washing Tee, a lightweight, light coloured washed out design at £50 it may be the most expensive but it looks like a classic. There is nowhere else to get a vintage Disney design then at ASOS.

So grab some jeans and a classic t-shirt, because it’s time to show off your childhood heroes in style.
