Sugababes - Get Sexy
There's something about the Sugababes that I just don't find sexy. Heidi's fit, in a very obvious, even-Dave Berry-could-fancy-her kinda way, and as for the other two, well they're pretty, but also pretty replaceable. So hearing them try to be all sexy sounds like listening to the drunkest girls at the party singing. The beat is a bit Flo Rida, the chorus is Right Said Fred and Synths4Hire. This doesn't bode well.

Dizzee Rascal - Holiday
During the BBC coverage of Glasto a few months ago, Dizzee asked them not to broadcast this song, believing it was so good he didn't want anyone outside of Pilton to hear it. Unfortunately when you hype something that much, you do leave yourself open, and while this is certainly a quality track it's not exactly mind-blowing. It's a bit like Bonkers, it's a bit like Fit But You Know It and it's a bit like Encore Une Fois. All great, but this sadly doesn't live up to the sum of its parts.

Jamie T - Chaka Demus (ep title track)
I firmly believe that in five years time Jamie T will be on stamps. He is an national institution, writing songs that will be sung by milkmen well into the next century. While it's got its moments, Chaka Demus however isn't his best cut, compared to earlier release Sticks N Stones. Robbie Williams would kill for a track like this. It's a shame this won't be on the new album, as it would make for a real fan favourite album track, just not a single.

Remi Nicole - Standing Tears Apart
This track will come as a surprise to some - not because it's such a massive departure, more that it got made at all. After the disappointment of her first album (which confused me a bit, because I quite liked it) Remi Nicole is back, and while the Lily Allen-isms may just be too hard to shake off, it's got a beautiful Cardigans-esque harmony that's made for (the end of) summer time.

The Cribs - Cheat On Me
To the uneducated listening to this the first time, one could quip "ha, has Johnny Marr joined The Cribs?" Well he has, so stop laughing. Still lo-fi, with penchant for the big chorus, Mr. Kate Nash delivers a mouthwatering taste of the album Ignore The Ignorant. Whether this is as good as the album's first single We Were Aborted is debatable - but, well I love The Cribs, so this is reason enough to get excited. Check out the band playing the new single live below.
