It's time to party...
Flamboyant Bella have set out with clear intentions for their music - they want to be something fresh, new and crazy cool.
Hailing from Hitchin, Hertfordshire the four-piece band are currently touring Britain with Kid British and the word from gig goers is that the live show is amazing. Apparently the band has a real presence and they're holding their own with Kid British in terms of rocking out. If you do manage to see them on the tour there is also an exclusive 10 track album available that will soon become a hot commodity.
Flamboyant Bella was created when James (singer/piano/guitar) and Doreen (drums) formed a bad, but apparently they were unhappy with their bandmates and so bought in Doreen’s brother, Mitch, to play bass. Singer Flo was recruited at a chance meeting in a hairdressers when she told them she could sing a bit, turns out she could sing a lot. Then picked the name through interesting headlines from the 20th century, apparently it was a throw up between “Flamboyant Bella”, “Flash Fire Kills” or “Greeks and Turks”.
So on to the music; they have a delightful mix of Alphabeat with the vocals of Kate Nash and Jamie T. Even though this band refuse to be pigeonholed, it's tricky when the accent is pouring of indie induced electro beats. However, Flamboyant Bella manage to make their sound their own by mixing up the tracks with more subdue tones in songs like Second Minute Hour, which a lot of bands wouldn’t be able to pull off these days, or are too afraid to attempt.
If you want to dance, if you enjoy songs about drinking, partying and hooking up then you’ll love this bands way of making music. This band already has a well established local fan base and has been a constant member in the top 20 of MySpace popularity charts. With the support and songs they already have get ready for some new, fresh, crazy cool and flamboyant.
