Kit Yourself Out

Money's too tight to mention, so check out this ace outfit for £60

In this time of financial hell, it doesn't really matter any more where in the month pay day is - we're in a permanent state of skintness. Plus, with the weather veering from mild and deceptively summery to freezing, it's hard to know how much clothing to actually wear. So, this week's Kit Yourself Out picks out some budget items that are also great for any temperature.

First of all is this bargainous dress from New Look for £18, the nautical trend has been around for about 3,000 years and it still won't go away (even 'military trends are basically sailor clothes with added red), so this striped top is bang on. Teamed with the in-built black mini, it's a no brainer.

The ASOS clearance section is always full of bargains (if you can avoid the tie dye) and this zip detail longline cardie is only £15. The metal touch hints at biker chic but it'll also cover you down to the thigh - no one likes a cold bum, after all.

Coloured shoes are a great way to give every outfit a unique talking point, and these £22 shoe boots from the endlessly good-value Peacocks are a winner. Not too high and can be worn with jeans or a skirt in pretty much any situation.

A beanie is essential for cold weather, and since it can be easily removed indoors (and allows you to have an glamourous hair shake when you take it off...just us?) it's great for this weird weather. Camel is a big colour this winter, so snap up this £5 Abbie beanie from Boohoo for £5.

There you have it - £60 for an entire new outfit, and all excellent investments for winter!
