How to get a modern smart-casual style that's warm enough for October
Getting the balance between comfort and style can always be difficult. And, as we touched on last week, with the winter months fast approaching (has anyone else noticed just how much earlier its getting dark ALREADY?) comfort and cosiness hold supreme place in our list of needs from an outfit. This week’s KYO looks at solving this problem with the ultimate smart casual look (and no, by that we do not mean jeans with smart shoes...)
First up is one of the more daring items of this season: the lace bodysuit. As championed by Lily Allen and supermodel Eric Wasson, this naughty little number is from the lingerie section of Topshop for £25.
Not feeling frisky enough to bare all that flesh with just a little bit of fabric to cover your modesty? Then this look is still for you, as the bodysuits look great under strap or short sleeved tops such as this striped crop one for £18 and also from Topshop.
It might be doom and gloom outside but that doesn’t mean that your wardrobe needs to match, so pick up American Apparel’s purple tulip skirt for £24. The figure-friendly skirt hugs in all the right places whilst the block colours make sure you’re bang on trend.
Forget the X-Factor, we’re all about the comfort factor, so kick back and relax in the ultimate in chillaxing footwear: converse trainers. As the girly girls that we are, we have fallen in love with this violet and white pair, available on ASOS for £37.
Finish off your look with the cutest hat we’ve seen all year; River Island’s panda woolly hat for £12.99. Awwww!
As avid readers of KYO, we’re sure you sometimes wish you could have a catwalk of these wonderful outfits so you could see what they really look like. Well for one week only... we’ve done one better and you’ve got a picture of me modelling them for you! (see right) FYI, puppy not included.
